GLWA Welcomes New Board Members

Last Saturday night some of the girls and some of the significant others enjoyed the GLWA social event at Winterfest. Here we met up at Geneva Tap at the beginning of the night. Our next social event will be next month! Be sure to look for upcoming information.

Last night we welcomed two new members to our group. Susie M. & Wendy H. We are so happy to have you! Oakfire Pizza provided us a great meeting space with some delicious food. Thank you everyone who joined us for our February meeting.

Attention to our GLWA members who will be attending Mondays meeting. This is just a reminder we emailed two requests earlier this week. 1) If you have extra plastic grocery bags handy, please bring to meeting. The Walworth County Food Pantry and Diaper Bank is running low. 2) Lakeland Animal Shelter has several needs: Currently, they can use bleach, kitty litter (all kinds, clay, etc) and dry cat food (no red dye--causes stomach issues i.e. vomiting & diarrhea). They said Purina Kitty Chow is one brand. If you are able to bring one (or more) of these items to our Monday night meeting, it is much appreciated. Thank-you! Cute kitty pic for attention :)

And also we have a GWLA social meet up tomorrow at Winterfest, which is for everyone. This is a throwback to 2018, when Laurie (our current president) promoted our fall Ladies Day Luncheon event while in Greece. :D We have no idea if Laurie will do it this year, but the LDL committee has already been working tirelessly to prepare for a fantastic fall event. In addition, the committee for our summer service project, "Safety Town," that we have had for generations, have been meeting to bring this vital program back to the community. And of course, this spring is Women's Weekend Lake Geneva. We love being a part of GLWA because it allows us to do so much to help those in need, and we get to have fun doing it!

We wanted to say congratulations to our 2022 Safety Town Scholarship winner Payton Powell. Thank you for being part of this important service project that has been part of GLWA for 4 decades. And also congratulations to Jenifer Johnson, our 2021 winner, who also received her scholarship this year (no photo available).

We love when all people and businesses also give to the community! Happy Monday, GLWA girls! Yesterday, our social director, Emma sent out an eventbrite for a GLWA get-together this coming Saturday! The best part is... it's accessible to everyone! Bring your significant other, friends, siblings, and neighbors! It's free to join us; we just sent the invite through Eventbrite. So let's gather for some fun, see the sculptures, grab a few beverages, and make a night of it. It's just a girls' (and boys') night out!
