Blue Jean Ball 2021

What a fantastic evening we had on Monday, October 4, 2021, at the Blue Jean Ball honoring our former presidents!

The Hawks View Golf Club provided us with a lovely room and a delectable meal. We strongly recommend them for your next event… we almost didn’t want to crop the images because the backdrop was so beautiful! Pork loin, Cranberry BBQ Chicken, or 5-Cheese Ravioli were all options.

Our previous presidents were introduced before we ate. It was fascinating to hear about their prior experiences and how we came to be who we are today.

It was a pleasure to meet our guests, and we hope that they will become future GLWA members.

We also collected cat food and peanut butter for the Lakeland Animal Shelter, which we will deliver this weekend.

Our fabulous Laurie, who was not only the DJ but also taught some of us how to do line dances, brought the night to a close with some dancing. It was a lot of fun watching it! Thank you to Melissa, Laurie, Deb, and Kathy for organizing this event.

School Days Market a Success

We wanted to recognize the Walworth County Food and Diaper Bank‘s great work with the School Days Market, which provided school supplies to children in the area whose families were enrolled with the food and diaper bank. Over 260 children had the opportunity to take part in their education and choose objects that would help them achieve in the new school year.
GLWA was happy to contribute to this effort with a donation. Kunes Auto also generously donated tents for the event.

Our Silent Auction is open to the public!

Next Monday is the Ladies Day Luncheon 2021! We are ecstatic to return this to the community.
We have exciting news for the ENTIRE COMMUNITY*… we’ve always done Silent Auctions at LDL, but this year we’re doing it online/on your phone!
LDL attendees will be able to see the goods in person and bid on them next week, but they, as well as everyone else, can begin bidding on the auction today!
We have a vacation, gift cards, children’s gifts, golf, designer bags, gifts for the dogs and so much more!
You must register to bid… bidding ends Monday September 13 at 1pm central time during our Ladies Day Luncheon.
You do not need to be present to bid or win. If you are not a LDL attendee, arrangements will need to be made after our event to receive your item. Please note, We CANNOT ship Alcohol.

Das Fest USA in Elkhorn!

What a fantastic weekend Das Fest USA had at the Walworth County Fairgrounds. This three-day event, originally held in Milwaukee, featured German bands, food, beer, shops, dachshunds, a carnival, and other activities.

GLWA was invited to host a number of events, including the Stein Hoisting Contest and gate welcomers, among other responsibilities. Laurie, our board member in charge of membership, did an outstanding job arranging and managing the responsibilities.

Here are a few pictures from the weekend; more will be added as they become available.
